BNWAS (Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System)

The BNWAS is a state-mandated safety feature that continually monitors bridge activity and confirms the officer of the watch is engaged and alert. If no action is taken by the officer in response to the alarm, the alarm will become a call to others on board, meaning a continuous watch is being maintained, and there are no watch or navigation safety gaps.
